Program Description: Parent and Tot is a program that allows children aged 3 onto the ice with a parent/guardian. Coaches will assist parents/guardians in teaching their youngsters the basics of learning to skate while participating within a group. The coaches will have tasks that the skaters will do with their parents/guardians under the direction of the coach. Children must be three years of age by program start date. Each parent/guardian must be registered in the Parent & Tot Parent Registration prior to stepping on the ice and pay the $43.65 insurance fee. CSA approved helmets for adults are REQUIRED on the ice unless approved by a Professional Coach. Program Description: Dryland 4:15 - 5:15 pm - Lumley Room On Ice 2:30 - 4:00 pm - Shane Homes Ice This program is by skater invite OR a request to try out. *Mandatory 3 days per week - 8 years old and under *Mandatory 4 days per week - 9 years old and older *Qualified to skate on any Open / Star 1+ sessions in addition to designated sessions This program is by skater invite OR a request to try out. Our competitive skaters are committed to excellence and must abide by our "Competitive Code of Conduct". In addition to their on-ice training, competitive skaters are expected to maintain a high level of fitness by attending mandatory off ice classes. Skaters in this program will have demonstrated that they consistently have a strong work ethic and are willing to work hard to take their training to the next level. CompetitiveSkate is designed to help skaters learn strategies and techniques that will help them in a competitive skating career. They will receive focused lessons in a group environment, as well as have the advantages of sport professionals being brought in to work with the athletes when available. It is a privilege to get into the CompetitiveSkate Program and skaters must earn the right to not only be in the program, but remain in the program. Coaches are looking for athletes who:
Once a skater is able to show that they have all these traits, regardless of background or skating ability, they will be coach recommended and receive an invite to these sessions.
